Meet Toni Owner of Sweet Angel Cakes
Toni's baking career started at the ripe ole age of 7 years old. With a mother that despised baking, Toni's mom would often hand her a recipe and send her to the kitchen. Sure there were some mishaps, but after years of trial and error, Toni has become an expert cake baker. Unfortunately, her expertise went unused for a long time. Toni spent most of her young adult life working for a restaurant chain as District Manager and Regional Trainer. With traveling and responsibilities, she didn't have much time for anything, let alone baking. She retired from the business after seventeen years to settle down and start a family.
Despite her nearly two-decade hiatus, Toni's love affair with baking never left her and in an effort to ensure her kids would have top-notch homemade birthday cakes, Toni enrolled in Wilton Method Cake Decorating Classes in 2002. She enjoyed the classes so much that she decided to become an instructor in 2003. After teaching for over 6 years, she decided to concentrate more of her time designing wedding cakes. Toni had been making cakes casually for friends and family for several years and in 2006 became the "in-house" wedding cake designer at the Sheraton Read House. After spending time making cakes at the Read House and in a rented commercial kitchen space, Toni teamed up with a catering group in 2011 and opened a storefront in North Georgia.
In 2012, Toni moved to the current location on East Brainerd Road and started a second business, Chatt-Town Kitchen where kitchen rental space is now available for other small food businesses. Designing and creating custom wedding cakes is Toni's passion. Let her put it to work for you. The result will be the wedding cake of your dreams that will taste just as fabulous as it looks.
